July 30, 2008 The Charlotte Observer reports that Damione Lewis, a former first-round pick that never quite fit with the St. Louis Rams, is looking good in Carolina and could be set to become a starter at defensive tackle this season. Last season he backed up Kris Jenkins, who has since been traded.
Our View:He totaled eight sacks in two seasons as a reserve and could match that total in 2008. It's been a long journey for the 2001 first rounder out of Miami, but it appears he is finally set to be a regular starter. Expect him to take advantage of the opportunity.
