Damione Lewis is set to return to the gridiron following his recovery from a shoulder injury, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:Lewis is not a solid pro, but is a starting defensive tackle and the club will be pleased to get him back for Saturday while hosting the high-flying Cardinals' offense led by quarterback Kurt Warner.

The Charlotte Observer reports that Damione Lewis, a former first-round pick that never quite fit with the St. Louis Rams, is looking good in Carolina and could be set to become a starter at defensive tackle this season. Last season he backed up Kris Jenkins, who has since been traded.

Our View:He totaled eight sacks in two seasons as a reserve and could match that total in 2008. It's been a long journey for the 2001 first rounder out of Miami, but it appears he is finally set to be a regular starter. Expect him to take advantage of the opportunity.

Damione Lewis signed a 3-year contract with the Panthers to continue his fine work as a D-line reserve. His 3.5 sacks last season actually led the disappointing Panthers unit. Lewis offers no real fantasy value but it was important for the Panthers to keep him around with all the off-season moves that could face them prior to the start of the 2008 season. ESPN
