Richard Seymour is expected to undergo minor finger surgery Friday, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:The procedure is not expected to hinder his off-season workouts. He has been dealing with a lower-back ailment as well.
December 30, 2008
Richard Seymour's lower-back injury isn't serious enough to limit his off-season conditioning work, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:He does not expect anything to hold him back, and believes he will be ready to go. He racked up 51 tackles (34 solo) with eight sacks in 2008.

Updating an earlier report, Richard Seymour has now been ruled out for Sunday due to his ailing back, according to Scout.com.

Our View:The Patriots will depend on Jarvis Green to fill Seymour's shoes at defensive end. Mike Wright and LeKevin Smith will be afforded more playing time in a rotation as well.
December 27, 2008
Richard Seymour remains questionable for Sunday's game at Buffalo due to his ailing back, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Trent Edwards and the Bills' aerial attack would catch a break if Seymour is unable to go as the veteran defensive end has been a key contributor to the Patriots' pass rush with eight sacks.
December 26, 2008
Richard Seymour (back) sat out practice again on Friday, and he does not appear to be available in Week 17, according to Boston Herald.

Our View:This will be the third straight game that he misses. The Patriots are facing a must-win situation against the Bills. Look for Trent Edwards to pass more often than usual against a Pats secondary that has given up more passing touchdowns than all but two teams in the league.
