Kevin Kasper missed time early in camp with a hamstring injury and then suffered a concussion along with head and neck injuries in the Browns' third preseason game. The Browns placed Kasper on the IR and he will miss the entire 2008 season.
August 26, 2008
Kevin Kasper has been placed on season-ending IR according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View:Kasper had been strong and turning heads during minicamp, but has been slowed by injuries throughout training camp, including head and neck injuries sustained in Saturday's preseason loss against the Lions.

Browns wide out Kevin Kasper will miss the team's preseason game Monday against the Giants with continuing hamstring trouble, according to Scout.com.

Our View:In less than a month, Kasper has gone from potential third receiver to fighting for a roster spot. His fantasy value has plummeted during that time, and it wasn't real high to begin with, making him a non-factor.

Sports Illustrated notes that Kevin Kasper would be the Browns' number three receiver if the season started right now.

Our View:The 30-year-old vet is currently ahead of Travis Wilson and Joshua Cribbs for the slot role on the depth chart. The Browns' field a strong aerial attack, but Kasper failed to make an impact with Denver, Arizona, New England, or Detroit, as he only has nine career receptions in the NFL. He ranks as a marginal fantasy prospect.

Kevin Kasper has reportedly been the most "eye catching" player during the team's voluntary OTA, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. He displayed solid quickness and made impressive catches over the middle.

Our View:The 30-year old veteran was previously a member of the Lions, and only has one reception since 2003. He seems a long-shot to make an impact this season, but is off to a solid start with his new club, and will be given a fair shot to compete for a favorable role.
