Ed Reed has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, according to the Baltimore Sun. He earned the honor by plucking two interceptions in a winning effort against the Eagles last Sunday.

Our View:He now has three interceptions this season, two of which he returned for touchdowns. As for IDP leagues, too bad he only has 25 tackles (20 solo).

Safety Ed Reed had a terrific game for the Ravens in Week 12 with two interceptions, including a 108-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Our View:Good old Ed Reed had only one interception this season coming into Sunday's game, and he had been a very disappointing IDP option before this gigantic performance.
November 19, 2008
Ed Reed did not practice for the Ravens on Wednesday, according to the Ravens' official site.

Our View:Reed hasn't had a whole lot of value in IDP leagues this season, but does make the Ravens' team defense stronger when he's in there.

Free safety Ed Reed (thigh) is expected to play today against the New York Giants, according to NFL.com

Our View:Reed isn't a great fantasy option in the IDP world, but his presence could make things tougher on quarterback Eli Manning, as he is known as a ball-hawking presence in the secondary.
October 23, 2008
Ravens safety Ed Reed practiced with the team on Thursday after missing the team's workout Wednesday, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Reed was dealing with a thigh issue, but it looks like he'll be good to go against the Raiders this week.
