David Gerrard may be promoted to backup quarterback for the Jaguars tomorrow now that they are pretty much out of the playoffs, according to the Flordida Times-Union. Coach Tom Coughlin said he wouldn't make an announcement until tomorrow.

Mark Brunell left the Jaguars' game in the second quarter on Sunday after taking a blow to the head. He did not return, leaving rookie David Garrard to lead the offense. Garrard connected on just 4-of-7 passes while throwing two interceptions, but kept his team in the game by running for two touchdowns on seven carries for 71 yards.
