Our View:Alexander needs to get familiar with the Redskins' offense, and needs to get in some contact in practice, before getting hit in a live game. The Redskins like to employ two backs, and Cartwright is a capable runner, so he is worth a look in deeper leagues as a flex option if you lack a more favorable option.
August 16, 2008 Rock Cartwright led a potent Redskins rushing attack in Saturday's preseason game against the Jets. He ran six times for 90 yards, including a 73-yard scamper. As a whole, the Redskins rushed 22 times for 181 yards.
Our View:Through three preseason games, the Redskins have rushed 84 times for 494 yards. That works out to a 5.9 yards-per-carry average. Yes, it's just the preseason, but those results suggest good things for Clinton Portis in Jim Zorn's first season.
