Jermaine Phillips was officially put on injured reserve by the Buccaneers, ending his season, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

Our View:Phillips suffered a broken arm last week. He had played well for the team, with 59 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery for a score.

Jermaine Phillips will miss the rest of the season after breaking his arm in Sunday's loss at Atlanta, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:Sabby Piscitelli will be the top candidate to replace him at strong safety, and would be a significant downgrade at the position, namely in pass coverage.
November 28, 2008
The St. Petersburg Times reports that safety Jermaine Phillips looks likely to return from his broken left forearm, solidifying the unit for Sunday's matchup against the Saints.

Our View:It's not clear if Phillips would start ahead of his replacement, Sabby Piscitelli, or come off the bench. But coach Jon Gruden expressed confidence Thursday that Phillips will play now that he is four weeks removed from his injury.
November 24, 2008
Jermaine Phillips could return to the gridiron in Week 13 following his recovery from a broken forearm, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View:Phillips is a solid strong safety, and would provide a boost to the Buccaneers' secondary while contending with Drew Brees and the Saints' high-powered passing attack.
November 22, 2008
Tight end Jermaine Phillips will not play in Sunday's tilt against the Lions, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:He should be able to practice next week. Jerramy Stevens will be the lone healthy tight end for the Bucs this week.
