Newsbreakers
December 22, 2008
Cornerback Jason David grabbed his fifth interception of the season, as the Saints defeated the Lions on Sunday.

Our View:Five picks is his career-high, but he has only managed 20 tackles (18 solo) on the season.
September 1, 2008
Saints cornerback Jason David was not cut by the Saints, according to ProFootballWeekly.com. The web site reports that David was listed as cut on NFL.com, but that was simply an error.

Our View:It would not have been a surprise to see David cut, as he was the poster-boy for the Saints horrendous pass defense last season.
August 24, 2008
Saints cornerback Jason David could wind up getting cut from the roster at the end of camp, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:David was awful last season, getting burnt time and time again. The team has been impressed by Usama Young, but David has continued to struggle.
November 21, 2007
The Saints will keep cornerback Jason David in their starting lineup despite his poor play this season, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "[Jason Craft] is someone we consider playing over there, but right now our starting right corner is Jason David," Payton told the paper. This great news for Steve Smith owners, as the Panthers are the next team to get to feast on the Saints secondary.
September 26, 2007
Jason David will miss up to six weeks with a fractured left forearm, according to Tuesday’s New Orleans Times-Picayune. Jason Craft is expected to replace David in the starting lineup.

Our View:David is giving up a rough average of two deep passes per game. He hasn’t lived up to the hype since he signed with the Saints as a free agent during the offseason, and there’s no reason to save him a spot on your IDP roster.
