Benny Sapp is expected to replace the injured Charles Gordon in the nickel role, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:He will be auditioned for one game this weekend at Tampa Bay, and his status going forward will depend on how he fares. As a fantasy defensive back, he holds no value.

Vikings cornerback Benny Sapp was limited in practice on Wednesday due to a tight hamstring, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Our View:Sapp has only recorded one tackle in 2008 for the Vikings and has no fantasy value.

The Minnesota Vikings have signed cornerback Benny Sapp to a one-year, $705,000 contract, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Sapp, who will receive a $100,000 signing bonus, appeared in 56 games in four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, with six starts and two interceptions. He will provide depth at cornerback for Minnesota.

Benny Sapp will visit with the Minnesota Vikings today, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Sapp, who spent the past four seasons with Kansas City, has also received interest from Cleveland and Detroit. The Vikings have already taken steps to secure their defensive depth by signing defensive lineman Ellis Wyms, linebacker Derrick Pope and safety Michael Boulware.
