Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham says the case involving Marvin Harrison's gun can't proceed with charges due to a lack of credible witnesses. "We have nine or so versions of what happened," Abraham notes. A shooting occurred on April 29, 2008, and police have confirmed that the gun used belonged to Harrison and it was found in his garage after the incident. However, it is not known who shot the gun. Harrison has been sued in a civil suit by Dennis Dixon, who was involved in a fistfight with Harrison and suffered a bullet wound to the hand, the Ticker reports.

Our View:From what we saw this season, there's no way Harrison would have been able to run to a gun if someone had simply jammed him at the line. It continues to sound like Marv may come away from this incident without any serious charges, but he may end up paying money to Dixon in the civil suit.

It could be the end of an era in Indianapolis, as the team is expected to release wideout Marvin Harrison when the season ends, Pro Football Weekly reports.

Our View:Harrison caught just 60 passes for 636 yards and five scores this season, which is not nearly enough production for how large his contract is.

The Indianapolis Star reports that receiver Marvin Harrison is a likely scratch from the Colts season finale against the Titans. He did not play in Week 16 due to a sore knee and slightly injured hamstring. "If he's not 100 percent," Tony Dungy said, "we won't play him."

Our View:Harrison has been healthier than last season, but he has not produced the numbers we are use to seeing. The Colts figure to rest multiple injured players in preparation for the playoffs.

NFL.com reports that this may be Marvin Harrison's last season with the Colts. The team will save $7 million if they release him after the season.

Our View:It's hard to picture Marvin in a different uniform, but if it can happen to Isaac Bruce, it can happen to Harrison. Anthony Gonzalez figures to benefit the most by this transaction.

Updating an earlier report, Marvin Harrison has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Jaguars, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Our View:This is the first game Harrison has missed this season. He missed 11 last year while battling multiple knee injuries. Anthony Gonzalez will start in Harrison's place.
