Rich Gannon announced his retirement on Saturday, according to the AP. He missed most of last season with a broken vertebra in his neck. Gannon has already has signed with CBS Sports as an NFL game analyst.

Rich Gannon confirmed Monday that he likely will not return from his neck injury to play again, according to the Contra Costa Times. "The outlook is not very good for me to come back and play," he said.

The Contra Costa Times reports that the Raiders don't expect Rich Gannon to rejoin them due to the broken vertebrae in his neck. "Rich hasn't come out and made any statements," coach Norv Turner said, "but from a physical standpoint, it would be very difficult for him to play." At 40 years of age, he likely will retire.
