Ray Edwards has been fined $25,000 for his late hit on quarterback Jeff Garcia in Week 11, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:The hit opened a cut on Garcia's chin. He was also tagged later in the game for a leg whip on an unspecified Buccaneers' player. Edwards makes around $27,812 per game.

Ray Edwards was limited in Thursday's practice due to his knee ailment, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:Edwards excited fantasy owners in the preseason when he claimed he was going to challenge the single-season sack record, but has been a grave disappointment as he only mustered a half sack so far. Edwards should not be considered for lineups, despite a favorable match-up against an unstable Texans' offensive line.

Ray Edwards was inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans after sustaining a shoulder injury during battle with Carolina in Week 3, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:He felt ready to go, but the team was not quite as confident. Edwards boldly stated in the off-season that he was going to challenge the single-season sack record, but has been held without a sack so far in 2008.

Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards is getting more and more repetitions as he continues his recovery from a lower-back injury, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:Edwards should be a starter at defensive end opposite Jared Allen, and with double teams certain to come Allen's way, Edwards should be able to take advantage and increase his sack total from last year's 4.5.
July 30, 2008
Ray Edwards, who had miss all the team's workouts up until this point, has been activated from the PUP list and is said to be in good shape according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Our View:Edwards’ return will give the Vikings No. 1 defensive line a chance to practice together for the first time this season.
