Michael Huff missed Thursday's practice after bruising his hip Wednesday, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View:His status will not affect Sunday's game against Carolina, as Huff recently lost his starting job at safety due to poor play.

Michael Huff was demoted to backup status, as he will no longer be the starting free safety, according to the Contra Costa Times. Hiram Eugene will be the starter.

Our View:Huff has not played well, and is looking like a big-time bust after being a top-ten pick in 2006. He has no interceptions and 12 tackles so far this year.

After earlier reporting that Michael Huff was being moved from strong to free safety, Huff is now in danger of losing playing time to Hiriam Eugene, according to the Contra Costa Times. “We’re going to create some competition for Michael and give Hiram Eugene an opportunity to go out and press him a little bit, and see if we can’t bring the best out of either one of those guys,” HC Tom Cable said.

Our View:The team is spinning this as battle that will bring out the best in each player, but the truth is that Huff has looked terrible the past two weeks and he has failed to make the mark the team had expected from him since he was drafted in the first round in 2006.

Michael Huff has officially been moved from strong safety to free safety, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The move was necessitated by the teams addition of Gibril Wilson.

Our View:Huff will lose some value with this move while Gibril Wilson's should remain as strong as previously expected.

Michael Huff is on the trading block, and could possibly be moved to free safety if he remains in Oakland, according to the Contra Costa Times. At his season-ending presser, HC Lane Kiffin hinted that Huff could be moved to free safety because he doesn’t possess the intimidating presence as a hitter at strong safety. At this point, we’re not sure that Kiffin has the juice to make these types of decisions in Oakland.
