Marcus McNeill admitted he was rusty, but was pleased overall with his first outing of the season Monday night against the Jets, according to the North County Times. He started at left tackle and said, "I was a little anxious early on. I was out there just trying to hit everything, but you can't get away from your technique. I've been working on run-blocking, but you can only hit tackling dummies so many times. Those dummies always stay in the same place."

Our View:The two-time Pro Bowler helped guide the Chargers to 357 net yards, and did not allow a sack while protecting Philip Rivers' blindside.

Left tackle Marcus McNeill wrapped up a full week of practice on Saturday and is ready for Week 3. He hasn't played this year due to a sore neck. "My biggest thing is I wanted to get out there and show them I was 100 percent so I could play," McNeill tells the North County Times. "You kind of leave it to the discretion of the head coach and see what he does with it."

Our View:The Chargers have been operating without McNeill and starting center Nick Hardwick. That's part of the reason why their rushing attack is off to a slow start.

Marcus McNeill, who has been battling a neck injury, practiced Wednesday for the first time since August 4, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. He said, "I'm feeling 100 percent and I'm ready to go out there and play."

Our View:He is likely to make his 2008 debut Monday night against the Jets. The solid pro would replace LJ Shelton at left tackle, hence strengthening the Chargers' line.

QB Charlie Whitehurst (3rd), CB DeJuan Tribble, LB Anthony Waters, C Nick Hardwick, G Kynan Forney, T Marcus McNeill, FB Kris Brown, DT Brandon McKinney.

Our View:The Chargers will be without the services of starting left tackle Marcus McNeill, who will be replaced in the starting lineup by L.J. Shelton.

Marcus McNeill hasn't been a part of team drills since before the start of the exhibition season due to a bulging disc in his neck, but the Chargers hope he will be able to play in Week 3 against the Jets, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View:McNeill is a stud and the Bolts offense likely won't be clicking on all cylinders until they get him back.
