Our View:Ryans may actually benefit from Zach Diles's season-ending knee injury, as there could be more opportunities moving forward for DeMeco.
November 6, 2008 DeMeco Ryans missed Wednesday's practice with a shoulder ailment, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Our View:Ryans has been disappointing this season with only 51 tackles (40 solo), but the club cannot afford to lose him, especially with Zach Diles (tackles leader) out with a broken fibula. The Ravens' ground attack would benefit if Ryans is unable to go.
October 10, 2008 DeMeco Ryans fully practiced Friday, according to the Texans' official website. He had been nursing an ankle ailment.
Our View:He is probable for Sunday and will start as he helps the Texans' defense contend with Miami's dangerous "wildcat" formation featuring Ronnie Brown. Ryans is living up to high expectations for owners in IDP leagues, as he has racked up 35 tackles (28 solo) and two fumble recoveries so far.
September 29, 2008 DeMeco Ryans was forced out of action for a few plays in Sunday's overtime loss to Jacksonville after rolling his ankle, according to the Houston Chronicle. He had it re-taped and was able to finish the game.
Our View:He was limping after the game, but is yet to miss a start. He has played through an assortment of serious injuries over the past two seasons. Kevin Bentley replaced him in the lineup while he was out Sunday.

When Ryans takes the field next fall, he will be the Houston Texans player designated to wear the new defensive transmitter, which was approved by the NFL's head coaches this offseason, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Our View:The new rule states only one defensive player can wear the transmitter, which is why Ryans is the obvious candidate. He is a three-down linebacker who rarely leaves the field.
