Trent Edwards will take over as the starting quarterback for the Bills when they face the Redskins in Week 13, according to the team's official website. With J.P. Losman having proven his mediocrity over the last month, Edwards will probably start for the rest of the season. He has a series of nice matchups over the next three weeks (at Washington, vs. Miami, at Cleveland), but the rookie did nothing in his four previous starts to indicate he'll become a fantasy factor.

Trent Edwards could miss Sunday's game with a wrist injury. His status for Sunday won't be determined until close to game time, according to the Buffalo News. It doesn't matter a whole lot in fantasy terms, because J.P. Losman is starting for the Bills. The only question is whether Edwards will be active as a backup.

Dick Jauron knows who will start at quarterback for the Bills on Sunday, but he's not revealing that information just yet. "I probably do know the answer to that," Jauron told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle when asked whether J.P. Losman or Trent Edwards would start in Week 9. "But come back on Wednesday and we'll tell you." Edwards was knocked out of last Sunday's game with a wrist injury, and Jauron also refused to divulge any information about the rookie's status in that regard.

Trent Edwards left Sunday's game with a sprained right wrist. X-rays on the joint and his right arm came back negative, but his status for the Bills' next game is unclear at this point, according to the Buffalo News. When asked if Edwards would remain the starter over J.P. Losman so long as he's healthy enough to practice, coach Dick Jauron said, "I don't think I'll talk about that until we see where [Edwards] is." It will be interesting to see who Jauron goes with, but as he said, first we'll have to see if Edwards is healthy enough to even suit up.

Trent Edwards couldn't make it through his first game after officially being named the Bills' starting QB. Edwards was forced to leave in the third quarter Sunday with what appears to be a right hand injury, according to the AP. He was 14-for-21 for 130 yards and an interception before leaving. J.P. Losman relieved Edwards and completed 3-of-5 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown.

Trent Edwards has been named Buffalo's starting quarterback, according to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. "We are naming Trent Edwards as our starting quarterback," head coach Dick Jauron said in a statement released by the team Tuesday. "I have spoken with both Trent and J.P. (Losman) and want to get the word out to our fans today." Edwards, a rookie third-round pick from Stanford, is 2-1 in three starts. He has completed 66 of 100 passes for 660 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions.

Trent Edwards made a good case Sunday to remain the Bills' starting quarterback going forward, as he led the team to a 19-14 win over the Ravens. While the win against the Ravens was impressive, predictably, their tough defense kept him from doing much in fantasy terms; Edwards finished the game with just 153 passing yards, no touchdowns and one interception. The Bills face the Jets next week.

It's official: Trent Edwards will remain the Bills starting quarterback. Several team sources confirmed to the Buffalo News that Edwards will get the nod over J.P. Losman in Week 7 against the Ravens.
October 8, 2007
Quarterback Trent Edwards started his first nationally televised game on Monday night, and came up completing 23 of his 31 pass attempts for 176 yards and an interception. Edwards managed the game well, but the Bills lost to the Cowboys 25-24.

The Bills won't bite off more than they can chew with rookie starter Trent Edwards on Sunday, instead taking things slowly as he prepares for his first NFL start on Sunday against the Jets. "We'll get a feel for what he's comfortable with, and then we'll have to temper that because he'll tend to feel confident," head coach Dick Jauron told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. "He can grasp a lot of concepts, but there's a difference between knowing them and executing them with the precision you need to succeed in this league."

The Bills plan to use J.P. Losman and Craig Nall for two series each during their final preseason game, according to the team’s website. That means rookie Trent Edwards, who was the team’s third-round choice, is expected to play the rest of the game. Edwards is believed by many Bills observers to have already earned the backup job ahead of Nall. Even so, he has no fantasy value except in the deepest of keeper leagues.

Trent Edwards will serve as the third-string quarterback for the Bills when they open the preseason on Friday, but the rookie is expected to play much of the game, according to the Bills official website.
July 11, 2007
Third-round draft pick Trent Edwards agreed to a contract with the Bills on Tuesday. "Trent's agent recognized that getting this done early was beneficial and it enables Trent to now concentrate on football," V.P. of Football Administration Jim Overdorf told the Bills official website. Terms of the deal were not released.
