November 8, 2008
Rams fullback Brian Leonard's shoulder injury, which put him on IR, was not quite as serious as was once thought, and he should be ready for full participation in the team's offseason workouts, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Leonard is a former second-round pick who can play both fullback and running back, but excels at neither. He has no fantasy relevance.

Rams running back Brian Leonard was put on injured reserve Monday with a shoulder separation, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Our View:Leonard was fantasy-relevant for about two games last year in place of the injured Steven Jackson. But he's really a man without a position, as he's not cut out for running back and not big enough to be a fullback, so his presence won't be missed at all by St. Louis.

Running back/fullback Brian Leonard injured his shoulder during the Week 6 win over the Redskins, the AP reports.

Our View:The Rams are already without Antonio Pittman, and they're down to Travis Minor as Steven Jackson's top backup. Jackson rarely takes a play off, though, so this isn't a huge deal right now.

Rams running back Brian Leonard, who was inactive Week 2, says his shoulder is feeling better, and he would like to play on Sunday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Leonard, a second-round pick in 2007, was inactive only in part because of his shoulder. It's also because he has no real role on the team. He is too slow and not shifty enough to be a regular tailback, and he is too small to be a fullback. His fantasy impact is zero, and draft-day selections such as this are the reason the Rams are as horrendous as they are.

Brian Leonard was limited early in the week due to a shoulder injury but fully practiced late in the week and will play against the Eagles in week one.
