Jackson had seven carries for 46 yards and a touchdown in the Bills' victory over the Rams in Week 4. He also added three receptions for nine yards.

Our View:Jackson has been productive for fantasy owners in two out of four games this season, but he has yet to top 10 carries in a game. Marshawn Lynch is still getting the goal-line carries, so there is not much reason to consider Jackson if you don't already own Lynch.

Fred Jackson carried the ball six times for 17 yards and chipped in seven receptions for 83 yards in the Bills' victory over Jacksonville.

Our View:Marshawn Lynch compiled 19 carries and did most of the damage on the ground, but Jackson was a primary checkdown target for quarterback Trent Edwards all afternoon. Jackson didn't catch a pass last week, but has accumulated 23 touches during the first two games of the 2008 campaign.

Fred Jackson is splitting first-team reps with Marshawn Lynch, according to Bills.com.

Our View:Jackson has a firm grip on the No. 2 role behind Lynch, leaving Dwayne Wright to battle with rookie Xavier Omon for the third spot on the depth chart. Jackson is the preferred back to target as a "handcuff" for Lynch.

If the growing legal problems of Marshawn Lynch preclude him from starting the season with his teammates, it would appear that Fred Jackson would be the team's starter, according to Buffalo Rumblings. Dwayne Wright and Xavier Omon could also find themselves toting the rock.

Our View:Will the Bills consider another troubled running back, the recently released Travis Henry, if Lynch is indeed unable to play? Just a thought.

A day after both Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson topped 100 yards in a win over the Dolphins, head coach Dick Jauron said Lynch remains his No. 1 running back, but Jackson will continue to get plenty of work. “Marshawn will probably get a little more, but just a little more,” Jauron told the Bills official website. “It’s one of those deals where you can go with the hot guy. You have a rotation, but if one of them is hotter than the other you just go with them for a while and see where it leads us.”
