May 10, 2008 Defensive lineman Marcus Thomas was arrested for possession of a controlled substance on March 1, and on May 9, he was cleared of any charges, according to ProFootballTalk.com. Agent Richard Burnoski said, "Thomas was embarrassed by this. The people that supported him, the Broncos and coach Mike Shanahan, his family and a lot of the fans on the message boards, he thanks them. It’s good to be proven right."
Our View:Now Thomas can put this matter behind him and focus on earning a role along the defensive line this season with the Broncos.
March 3, 2008 Marcus Thomas was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, the Denver Post reports. "I don't think charges will be formally filed," his agent and former high school coach, Richard Burnoski, explains. "But the damage has been done." Burnoski says the police found a trace amount of cocaine in a car in which Thomas was a passenger. Thomas took a drug test after his release, and the results came back negative.
