Outside linebacker Jyles Tucker has not practiced this week but said he felt great after doing side work Thursday, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View:Tucker has done ok trying to replace Shawne Merriman but Marques Harris will likely start in the position again on Sunday if Tucker can't go.

Jyles Tucker has been sidelined for the past two games with a strained hamstring, but is expected to return to the gridiron this weekend at Buffalo, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View:Tucker is Merriman's replacement at outside linebacker, and has been doing a favorable job with three sacks. He is worth a look in larger IDP leagues, namely those that put a premium on sacks.

The Chargers have announced that Jyles Tucker will be out again in Week 6 with a hamstring injury, according to CBSSportsline.com.

Our View:The Chargers will be without two of their best linebackers again this week with Merrimean and Tucker out. Antwan Applewhite will once again will start in the place of the injured Tucker.

San Diego Chargers inactives: QB Charlie Whitehurst (3rd). DB Paul Oliver, LB Anthony Waters, T Corey Clark, WR Malcolm Floyd, FB Kris Wilson, LB Jyles Tucker, DT Ian Scott.

Our View:None of the players on this list are fantasy relevant.

A member of the Chargers who has played in only six regular-season games has landed a new contract paying $6 million in guaranteed money, according to Pro Football Talk. Linebacker Jyles Tucker, undrafted in 2007 and under contract through 2008, would have been an “exclusive-rights free agent” (i.e., not a free agent) in 2009 and a restricted free agent in 2010.

Our View:As Mike Florio of PFT reports, it’s a four-year, $10.15-million extension with $4.5 million in escalators. Tucker might end up earning all of that money in 2008, if Shawne Merriman can’t go due to his torn PCL and LCL.
