October 31, 2008 Nick Roach will be ready to start at strongside linebacker Sunday against Detroit if Hunter Hillenmeyer is unable to go due to his thumb injury, according to the Bears' official website. Roach said, "It’s a possibility. I’ll definitely be ready to go. I’ve just been out here at practice learning and asking a lot of questions of coaches."
Our View:The second-year pro out of Northwestern was beginning to show potential in limited action on defense when he sustained a shoulder injury October 5 in Detroit that sidelined him for the last two games. He is looking forward to possibly starting in the NFC Central rematch with the Lions. He has great speed and the Bears' defense shouldn't be compromised if he is called into action.
