Newsbreakers
November 9, 2008
Week 10 inactives: CB Brandon Flowers, CB Patrick Surtain, S DaJuan Morgan, TE Michael Merritt, LB Derrick Johnson, OT Barry Richardson, OT Andrew Carnahan, DE Turk McBride.

Our View:Safety Jarrad Page is active, but as you can see, the Chiefs defense is hurting. That's good news for LT, Philip Rivers, and the rest of the Chargers offense.
November 3, 2008
The Kansas City Star reports that the Chiefs might have cornerback Brandon Flowers (hamstring) for Sunday's game against the Chargers in San Diego, coach Herm Edwards said Monday.

Our View:Flowers had two interceptions in Week 8 against the Jets. He has a good nose for the football and he should find some more turnovers before the season's end.
October 26, 2008
Cornerback Brandon Flowers picked off two passes in the Week 8 loss to the Jets. He returned one of the interceptions 91 yards for a touchdown. Flowers also had eight total tackles (five solo, three assists) on the day.

Our View:Those are the first couple picks of the rookie's career. Herm Edwards was high on the youngster, and it's good to see him get on the board. He isn't an IDP talent right now, but he may have a bright future.
August 2, 2008
The Kansas City Chiefs second-round selection, cornerback Brandon Flowers, is in line to be a starter this season, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View:That Flowers will start isn't a big surprise, but it would be if two other rookies, corner Brandon Carr and safety DaJuan Morgan also earn starting jobs, as the paper suggests is possible. Usually, starting three rookies in the secondary is a recipe for disaster, but the Chiefs are going to be bad this year, and everybody is aware of that, so maybe it would help speed the growth process of these players.
July 23, 2008
The Chiefs inked second-round pick Brandon Flowers (Virginia Tech) to a four-year deal, according to the AP. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View:He is a very aggressive and physical cornerback and is projected to start for the Chiefs as a rookie. He should make some big plays this season and rack up a favorable amount of tackles, making him worthy of a late round selection in IDP drafts.
