November 27, 2008
John Carlson had a solid outing in Thursday's 34-9 loss to the Cowboys as he led the Seahawks with six receptions for 105 yards.

Our View:The rookie tight end registered the first 100-yard game of his career, and was one of few bright spots for Seattle.
November 23, 2008
John Carlson made two catches on Sunday for 14 yards and a touchdown against Washington.

Our View:Carlson is a good receiving tight-end and has three touchdown receptions on the season now.
October 12, 2008
Tight end John Carlson scored his first career touchdown in the Week 6 loss to the Packers. He caught four passes for 22 yards.

Our View:Carlson bounced back from a catchless Week 5. The Seahawks really seem to like the rookie. He is likely to be inconsistent throughout this year, but he may have a bright future.
September 4, 2008
Rookie second-round pick, tight end John Carlson, will start for the Seahawks during Week 1, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. "It's an opportunity for me, and I'm grateful for that. Now I need to go prove I deserve it," Carlson said.

Our View:Carlson should be fairly productive for fantasy owners this season, but until more is known about how he will be utilized, it is not wise to put him in starting lineups.

John Carlson had a tough outing against the Bears Saturday, as he was flagged for three penalties (two false starts and a holding call), according to the News Tribune. The rookie tight end said, "False starts are always a lack of concentration. I don’t have any excuse for it. It’s my fault. It’s something that I need to improve upon and make sure it doesn’t happen again." He had one catch for eight yards.

Our View:Carlson is projected to start as a rookie and could be productive as the Seahawks' receiving corps has been thinned out by injuries, but he will not last long if he continues to rack up penalties.
