Our View:The Chiefs still have one open roster spot and coach Herman Edwards said the team is looking at bringing in a running back to fill that spot. Merritt will hold no fantasy value with Kansas City as long as Tony Gonzalez remains intact.

Our View:He is athletic for the position, but lacks polish and is viewed as a project. The team was waiting to sign him until it was clear his knee was healthy.
