Our View:Brooks was horrendous on Sunday against St. Louis, including one that went a pathetic 26 yards. He is last in the NFL with a net average of just 32.1 yards.
September 16, 2008 The Washington Redskins cut veteran punter Derrick Frost and gave the job to sixth-round pick Durant Brooks, but that move is seemingly not paying off, according to the Washington Post. After a sub-par performance against New Orleans, Brooks knows his job is in question. "I know I'm on the line with probably guys coming in here and working out if I don't have a good game. Who knows what'll happen?"
Our View:Frost was a successful punter, and was not pleased that he was let go. Seems like he might have the last laugh should Brooks continue to struggle.
September 4, 2008 Sixth-round pick Durant Brooks won the job as the Redskins punter in training camp, but Derrick Frost, who Brooks beat out, said the competition was not on the up and up, according to the Washington Times. "They said the competition was even, but it definitely wasn't. I started the last game, and I definitely outplayed him after they said it was even going in. It was a sham. There was no competition," Frost said.
Our View:Frost has since caught on with Green Bay, and is apparently still quite bitter about the whole thing.

Our View:Brooks was the only punter drafted in 2008, and will compete with Derrick Frost for the starting job.
