Newsbreakers
Roy Williams, WRTuesday 10/7, 4:24 PM CT
Roy Williams has plenty of things to say about his teammates and team's play this year and now with the trade deadline nearing the 49ers are said to have interest in the receiver, according to the Dayton Daily News.

Our View:With Williams' ex-offensive coordinator, Mike Martz, at the steering wheel of the 49ers offense it would be a good fit for both the receiver and the team.
Mike Furrey, WRTuesday 10/7, 8:34 AM CT
The Detroit Lions will simplify their offense in an effort to give the team a spark, and will not use the no-huddle look again, according to the Detroit Free-Press. "It's the same offense, but we've already scaled back a lot, and still we're not getting it done. I don't know if scaling back's the answer. I mean, I really don't know," said receiver Mike Furrey.

Our View:This change comes one week after the team said they were going to open up the offense. Head coach Rod Marinelli is in trouble, and if he does not find a way to win, could see himself in the same boat as Lane Kiffin and Scott Linehan: without a job.
Roy Williams, WRMonday 10/6, 2:30 PM CT
Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones stated that he does not intend to trade for receiver Roy Williams, according to MLive.com.

Our View:Jones also indicated that he will not deal for any receiver prior to the October 14 trade deadline. Williams would benefit from more single coverage while operating opposite Terrell Owens in Dallas' efficient passing offense, but Jones has shot down the idea.
