Ricky Williams, RB Sunday 9/7, 3:11 PM CT
Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown had a tough opening game against the Jets. Williams, who started, carried the ball 10 times for 24 yards and added four receptions for 15 yards. Brown rushed six times for 23 yards and chipped in three catches for 28 yards.

Our View: The Jets had an awful run defense last year, but they overhauled a sizable chunk of their roster. Still, we expected better out of Ricky and Ronnie in this one. Williams seemed to see more action, but it didn't matter.
Vernon Carey, OG Sunday 9/7, 1:53 PM CT
Offensive tackle Vernon Carey took a shot to the right hip in the third quarter of Sunday's opener against the Jets. He was on the ground for a short period before jogging off. Ikechuku Ndukwe took his place for one play before Carey returned.

Our View: Thank goodness. The Dolphins have enough other things to worry about on their offensive line. Carey needs to stay healthy if this offense is going to help fantasy teams.
Ernest Wilford, WR Sunday 9/7, 11:01 AM CT
Wide receiver Ernest Wilford is inactive for Week 1. He joins quarterback John Beck, cornerback Michael Lehan, running back Jalen Parmele, guard Shawn Murphy, defensive end Lionel Dotson, offensive tackle Nate Garner, and defensive end Rodrique Wright.

Our View: Wilford has obviously been a disappointment after coming over from the Jags this offseason. The Dolphins will feature Ted Ginn, Greg Camarillo, and Derek Hagan at receiver in Week 1. Rookie Davone Bess is active and should see time as a returner.
Ernest Wilford, WR Saturday 9/6, 1:04 PM CT
Ernest Wilford could be inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, according to the Miami Herald. Coach Tony Sparano is deciding whether to carry five receivers, and Davone Bess is expected to see time as a return man, making Wilford the likely candidate to be inactive.

Our View: Wilford was on the bubble to be cut, and should just be pleased he still has a locker with the team.
Aaron Halterman, TE Friday 9/5, 5:27 PM CT
Aaron Halterman was released by the Dolphins after they placed him on the IR with a back injury.
Ronnie Brown, RB Friday 9/5, 4:22 PM CT
Head coach Tony Sparano told the Palm Beach Post that although Ronnie Brown will not start Sunday, he "is going to play a bunch."

Our View: Brown is returning from ACL surgery and also had injured his thumb previously in the preseason. Ricky Williams is the better fantasy play early on this season. Expect 10-15 carries out of Brown in Week 1.
Yeremiah Bell, S Thursday 9/4, 3:40 PM CT
Safety Yeremiah Bell has been so impressive in the preseason that the Dolphins are working on giving him a contract extension, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: Bell did not play much last season due to a ruptured Achilles injury, but he apparently has been so good that the team thinks he could be a player who becomes a Pro Bowler.
Ricky Williams, RB Thursday 9/4, 1:45 PM CT
Dolphins running back Ricky Williams has been excelling as the starting running back in practice for Miami, and he could see 20 carries in the team's Week 1 game against the Jets, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

Our View: Williams is currently the starter over Ronnie Brown, and if he plays as well as he is supposedly practicing, Williams could be in for a nice game. Fantasy owners should keep this in mind when deciding whom to start on Sunday.
Chris Crocker, S Thursday 9/4, 12:16 PM CT
Chris Crocker beat out Jason Allen for the job as starting free safety, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View: The team still expects Jason Allen to get plenty of snaps, but at the outset of the game, Crocker will be the man. This does not affect fantasy football in any way, as the Dolphins D/ST unit should not be used.
Greg Camarillo, WR Wednesday 9/3, 1:38 PM CT
Greg Camarillo has reportedly moved ahead of Derek Hagan as the No. 2 receiver at practice today after Hagan dropped two passes in the preseason finale, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Our View: Camarillo would be worthy of a flier as a deep reserve if he does in fact start opposite Ted Ginn Jr. If quarterback Chad Pennington can move the ball efficiently, Canarillo could be a decent bye week filler.
Joey Thomas, DB Tuesday 9/2, 6:46 PM CT
The Miami Dolphins have waived cornerback Joey Thomas, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: Thomas was simply depth for the Dolphins, who cut him because they needed the roster room to sign safety Tyrone Culver.
Ricky Williams, RB Tuesday 9/2, 12:38 PM CT
Ricky Williams, who recently inked a one-year contract extension, said he would like to retire as a member of the Dolphins, according to the Miami Herald. Williams said, "Ideally, that's what I want (to end career in Miami). And if I keep playing like this, hopefully I'll have that opportunity. Hopefully, every time we get to this point in the season, they'll say, `We like you and we don't want you to become a free agent."

Our View: The Dolphins have faith in Williams this season and are counting on him to be productive while working in a timeshare with Ronnie Brown. He is personally pleased with the team as well, and is worthy of a spot on fantasy rosters.
Tyson Smith, LB Monday 9/1, 10:58 PM CT
The Dolphins have claimed linebacker Tyson Smith off waivers from the Cowboys, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Our View: Smith has been added to the practice squad, and won't likely see action with Miami this season.
Joey Porter, LB Monday 9/1, 2:56 PM CT
Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter said his back was feeling good, and that he will be ready to play Week 1, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Our View: Porter had just 5.5 sacks last season, along with 66 tackles. The team's D/ST unit should not be used in fantasy leagues, and Porter's value in IDP leagues is a depth player, at best.
