October 23, 2008 Ottawa coach Craig Hartsburg has said that backup goaltender, Alex Auld, could earn more playing time if he plays well Saturday against Anaheim, according to Sun Media. Hartsburg has felt that Gerber has been giving up too many early goals, and thinks that some of them could have been prevented.
Our View:If Auld steps up, he might be a decent signing, as he is a free agent in most leagues. If you have Gerber, sit him against Anaheim, and watch for updates on his status for Ottawa's next game.
