Our View:Orpik had been held silent prior to Tuesday's game. While he may not be fantasy worthy yet, expect a big jump from last season's pedestrian numbers.
July 2, 2008 Reported by the Piisburgh Post-gazette, Defenseman Brooks Orpik has been resigned by the Penguins to a six-year contract. Financial terms have yet to be disclosed.
Our View:Orpik played in 78 games last year for Pittsburgh. He tallied one goal, 10 assists, and 57 PIM for the season.
June 27, 2008 Brooks Orpik has rejected the contract offer presented by the Penguins, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "We did receive an offer, which we turned down," agent Lewis Gross said. "But we're still talking."
Our View:Oprik would likely be in line for a salary of around $3 million dollars, a price that might be too great for a team with so many free agents to sign. Regardless of where he ends up, Orpik has no value in fantasy leagues as a defensive defensemen.
