October 23, 2008 Nathan Paetsch will replace captain Craig Rivet in the Sabres lineup Thursday night, according to the Buffalo News. “It’s an opportunity for Nathan to step in and get some quality playing time," said Sabres coach Lindy Ruff. "We still feel we have six solid NHL defensemen.”
Our View:Paetsch has a lot of offensive upside, but he's probably not worth signing right now. If Rivet's recovery time is the expected two weeks, Paetsch would have to make a fairly immediate impact to stay in the lineup.
March 25, 2008 Nathan Paetsch returned to game action on Tuesday, playing 14 minutes and taking one shot on goal. He had missed four games due to a concussion but holds little fantasy value. Paetsch has just one goal and eight points on the season.
