Our View:Kovalev has 15 points now in 20 games, but just five of those points are from goals. He's put up inconsistent numbers in the last few years of his career, so it's anyone's guess as to how this season will turn out.
September 26, 2008 Alexei Kovalev is still trying to overcome the lingering soreness in his groin though he did skate on Thursday, according to the Montreal Gazette. "We'll see how Alex responds (this) morning," Carbonneau said. "I put him in the lineup for (tonight), but we'll see how he feels because we don't want to force him."
Our View:Kovalev figures to once again be one of the top power-play options in the NHL, especially after he rededicated himself to conditioning this off-season. Draft him as you normally would as this issue seems minor.

Our View:The injury is not believed to be serious. Kovalev was the scoring star of the Habs last season with 84 points including 47 on the power-play. He was penciled in on a preseason line with center Robert Lang and winger Guillaume Latendresse.
