TSN of Canada is reporting that Jaromir Jagr's days in the NHL are over. Avangard Omsk announced it has signed the former New York Rangers star and Jagr's agent, Pat Brisson, confirmed the move Friday afternoon. "Jaromir signed a letter of intent with the Avangard Omsk Hockey team of the Russian CHL on or about 3am EST this morning. I won't comment on the terms of the agreement at this time.It was a very difficult but personal decision to make in light of the many NHL teams interested in his services. He is grateful to the NHL and especially the Rangers in recent years."

Our View:Jagr, in the twilight of a terrific career, played in all 82 games for the Rangers and scored 71 points, 46 being helpers.

Jaromir Jagr has signed to play with Avangard Omsk, a team in Russia, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The deal is reportedly for two years.

Our View:There goes one fantasy option. Jagr wasn't the dynamic player he had been, but he could still tally enough points to be a valuable element to a fantasy team.

Jaromir Jagr is unlikely to re-sign with the New York Rangers, according to the New York Daily News. The team has offered him a one-year deal worth $6 million, but he has better offers to play elsewhere. "It doesn't look to me like I was their first choice. And I don't know if I was No.2 or No.3," Jagr said.

Our View:Jagr is still a very good fantasy player, and that will only change if he takes a deal to play overseas. It is rumored that Omsk-Avangard, a team in the Continental League in Russia, has offered him a lucrative deal.
