Zigmund Palffy shockingly announced his retirement Wednesday because of a lingering shoulder injury, according to the AP. Palffy recorded 11 goals and 31 assists in 42 games with Pittsburgh this year, but hasn't found the net since December 16. He has netted just one goal over his last 19 outings.
