Our View:It has been a good start for the Montreal center. He has tallied 10 points in eight games.
October 20, 2008 Center Saku Koivu put the puck in the net again on Monday night and has now scored in three straight games. Overall, Koivu has nine points through six contests.
Our View:We don't think Koivu can keep up this hot start, but he is looking like a good bet to eclipse last season's point total (56).
October 1, 2008 The AP reports that Saku Koivu made his preseason debut on a line with Chris Higgins and newcomer Alex Tanguay. He was held pointless in 15:37 of ice-time in Montreal's 3-1 win over Boston on Wednesday.
Our View:Koivu had been nursing a sore foot but appears ready to go for the season. He had 56 points and 93 PIM in 77 games a year ago for Montreal.
