Newsbreakers
November 23, 2008
Patrik Elias didn't score a goal even though he took six shots on net, but he did dish out three assists in the Devils defeat of the Lightning.

Our View:Elias has produced some fairly impressive numbers in the early going highlighted by eight goals and 20 points in 20 games despite the fact that he has been forced to play most of the season without Brian Rolston who is injured. Elias should vie for the team scoring lead, though an 80-point effort might be out of his reach.
November 20, 2008
Patrik Elias scored a goal and an assist in the Devils' 3-1 win over the Panthers on Thursday.

Our View:Elias is a solid contributor for fantasy owners. He has scored eight goals and has added seven assists in 18 games.
November 16, 2008
The New York Post suggests that the Devils should trade Patrik Elias. They list the Blackhawks as a possible trade partner.

Our View:Elias' contract includes a no-move clause, and the struggling forward would have to waive it to be traded.
