Burnside reports that as Avery was exiting the ice, he yelled vulgarities to a heckling fan in Boston and a female that was accompanied with the fan. The insults were heard by numerous people, and resulted in complaints being filed to the league. |
Our View: Those who are baffled as to why Avery would be suspended for a crude comment should look at his history. It's full of incidents where he has embarrassed himself and the NHL, and this is another one of them. Burnside goes on to say that there are many in the league who believe he needs professional help. |
