Tomas Holmstrom, RW Thursday 12/4, 12:13 PM CT
Tomas Holmstrom is not expected to play in Thursday's game against Vancouver due to back spasms, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: Holmstrom has potential to crack the top-20 among fantasy wingers, and he shall remain stashed on rosters.
Tomas Holmstrom, RW Tuesday 12/2, 4:11 PM CT
Tomas Holmstrom has returned to practice after recovering from a back injury and hoped to play on Thursday against the Canucks, but head coach Mike Babcock has said Holmstrom will not play on Thursday, according to MLive.com.

Our View: Holmstrom has missed seven games with the injury and the Red Wings are now not sure when he will make a return.
Chris Chelios, D Tuesday 12/2, 3:53 PM CT
Chris Chelios will spend time at AHL Grand Rapids for conditioning, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: The 46-year-old is trying to return from a fractured leg sustained in September. Chelios will provide solid veteran leadership upon his return, but will not hold much fantasy value as he is only averaging 11 points over his previous three seasons.
Johan Franzen, C Monday 12/1, 9:44 PM CT
Johan Franzen scored his 11th goal of the year in Monday night's 2-1 win over the Ducks.

Our View: Franzen is having a good year. He has now scored 11 goals in 19 games and has added five assists.
Marian Hossa, RW Monday 12/1, 9:39 PM CT
Marian Hossa scored the game-winning goal in the Red Wings 2-1 win over the Ducks on Monday night.

Our View: Hossa's goal was his 14th of the year and is continuing to be a solid fantasy option.
Chris Osgood, G Monday 12/1, 12:34 PM CT
Chris Osgood has been dealing with a minor right knee ailment but feels fine to start Monday's game against Anaheim, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: Osgood is 9-1-4, despite a poor .878 save percentage and a 3.19 goals-against average.
Tomas Holmstrom, RW Monday 12/1, 12:30 PM CT
Tomas Holmstrom, who is recovering from a back ailment, returned to practice Monday, according to the Detroit News. He skated for the first time in 11 days. He said, "It felt good. I'll practice Tuesday and see how it goes. I'm looking at returning Thursday if there are no setbacks."

Our View: He will miss Monday's game, but is hoping to return as early as Thursday against Vancouver.
