Sharks put D McLaren on waivers San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks placed defenseman Kyle
McLaren on waivers Tuesday.
McLaren, 31, racked up three goals and eight assists in 61 games last season
for the Pacific Division champs. The ninth overall pick in the 1995 draft,
McLaren has registered 46 goals and 161 assists in 719 career games with
Boston and the Sharks.
"Kyle has been a big part of our team over the last several years but we are
blessed with eight NHL defensemen on our roster and these are tough decisions

Dan Cloutier lost his grievance against the Kings and will remain a free agent, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. Cloutier was seeking to have the buyout of his contract reversed.
Our View:Cloutier hasn't been fantasy relevant since before the strike as he has posted only 18 victories the past four years.
Despite rumors that the Los Angeles Kings are discussing dealing Anze Kopitar, is is highly unlikely to happen, according to Allan Muir of SI.com.
Our View:We should hope not, especially because the package the Kings had been rumored to be getting (Khabibulin), is a bad deal. Kopitar should be taken fairly early in fantasy hockey drafts.
The Stars have acquired forward Lauri Tukonen from the Kings in exchange for forward Richard Clune, the AP reports. Tukonen was the No. 11 selection in the 2004 draft.
Our View:Tukonen will fight for a fourth-line spot with the Stars, and hopefully the change of scenery will do him good.
