Erik Ersberg, G Wednesday 11/19, 1:47 PM CT
Erik Ersberg will make his eighth start between the pipes Thursday against the Capitals, according to the LA Times.

Our View: He has lost two straight starts, but has only allowed two goals in five of his last six. He is worth employing in fantasy lineups for Thursday.
John Zeiler, RW Monday 11/17, 5:52 PM CT
The L.A. Times reports that Kings forward John Zeiler, on loan to minor league Manchester, will rejoin the Kings on Tuesday when they practice again.

Our View: Zeiler has yet to play this season in the NHL, but he did manage 36 games last season. He does not figure to have any fantasy impact.
Erik Ersberg, G Sunday 11/16, 12:34 AM CT
Erik Ersberg stopped 19-of-21 Nashville shots on Saturday in his sixth start of the year as the Kings fell 3-1.

Our View: Ersberg continues to be one of the best backup goalies in the league.
Michal Handzus, C Sunday 11/16, 12:36 AM CT
Michal Handzus scored the Kings' only goal on Saturday, giving him four on the year.

Our View: Handzus doesn't have much fantasy value at this point.
Erik Ersberg, G Sunday 11/16, 9:37 PM CT
Kings goalie Erik Ersberg played a solid game, stopping 24-of-26 shots for the team, but he was outdone by his counterpart, Jonas Hiller, and fell to Anaheim, 2-0.

Our View: Ersberg started his ninth game of the season, and he continues to outperform Jason LaBarbera, despite the latter getting more playing time.
Anze Kopitar, C Sunday 11/16, 9:43 PM CT
Anze Kopitar has struggled recently, and in the Kings' 2-0 loss to Anaheim, those struggles continued, as he failed to pick up a point for the third consecutive game.

Our View: Kopitar has fallen into an odd trend, as he has alternated three-game surges of points with three-game cold streaks without a point for each of his last 12 games.
Erik Ersberg, G Saturday 11/15, 10:04 AM CT
Erik Ersberg is slated for his sixth start Saturday against Nashville, according to the LA Times.

Our View: Ersberg has been strong as he won four of his five starts, and maintains a 1.94 goals-against average over seven games. Jason LaBarbera is still considered the No. 1 starter, but he is taking a back seat to Ersberg as he has gotten off to a shaky start.
Drew Doughty, D Saturday 11/15, 10:09 AM CT
The Kings have been impressed with 18-year-old defenseman Drew Doughty, who has started all 15 games so far, according to the LA Times. The team stated, "Drew Doughty is going to be a phenomenal player and an All-Star in this league. Sure, he's made a couple mistakes. He's 18 years old playing against the best men in the world. He's succeeding 95% of the time and the other times he's kind of learning things and taking his lumps. He'll be better for it."

Our View: Doughty has scored two goals and four assists over 15 games, and is a team-leading +7. He is worth targeting if still available on the waiver wire.
Erik Ersberg, G Thursday 11/13, 11:38 PM CT
Erik Ersberg was strong in net once again as he stopped 24 of 26 Stars shots to improve to 4-1-1 for the Kings.

Our View: Let's just call it what it is - Ersberg is the Kings starter in net even if Jason LaBarbera is still being listed as the #1. Ersberg has played extremely well with a GAA of 1.94 in his seven appearances.
Alexander Frolov, LW Thursday 11/13, 11:40 PM CT
Alexander Frolov had two assists, one on the power-play, and was a +1 on Thursday night for the Kings.

Our View: Frolove has 11 points in 15 games giving him value as a secondary scoring option off the wing. Frolov has averaged 69 points the past two seasons, and while he may match that total this season, he just doesn't appear to have the game to take that mark to the next level.
Anze Kopitar, C Sunday 11/9, 12:30 AM CT
Anze Kopitar had a goal and two assists as the Kings beat the St. Louis Blues 5-3 on Saturday night.

Our View: The center had a good night but it was just his second goal of the season through 13 games. He does have 10 assists and 12 PIM which keeps him in the fantasy conversation.
Drew Doughty, D Sunday 11/9, 12:37 AM CT
Drew Doughty kept a good thing going with a goal and an assist in the Kings' 5-3 win over the Blues on Saturday. He has four points over his past two games.

Our View: Doughty has a lot of ability and will likely be a fantasy factor some day soon. However, you have to expect some inconsistencies throughout his rookie season. He had just one point prior to his last two performances.
Dustin Brown, RW Sunday 11/9, 4:19 PM CT
Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar have finally started to produce on offense after a slow start to the year, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View: Last season Brown scored 33 times, Kopitar 32 times, but so far this season they have combined for just seven goals. Given the lack of top end talent in Los Angeles, the Kings simply must have their top two scorers producing to have any chance of winning games.
Erik Ersberg, G Friday 11/7, 12:05 AM CT
Erik Ersberg won his second game in four appearances this season as he allowed the Panthers to score twice on 15 shots on Thursday night.

Our View: Ersberg was solid on the night, but he likely didn't play well enough to displace Jason LaBarbera for the starters role in Los Angeles, though he might end up starting a third straight game after the win on this night.
Drew Doughty, D Friday 11/7, 12:11 AM CT
Drew Doughty produced two helpers on Thursday night while recording a +1 and two PIM for the Kings.

Our View: The rookie has been solid on the blue line even if his offense has failed to match some peoples expectations (three points in 12 games). Still, he has shown enough for the Kings to keep him around, and he only figures to get better as the season, and his career, progress.
Jason LaBarbera, G Friday 11/7, 10:27 AM CT
Coach Terry Murray stated that Jason LaBarbera remains the Kings' No. 1 goalie, according to the LA Daily News.

Our View: Murray felt he needed to clarify LaBarbera's status as Erik Ersberg has started the last two games, and LaBarbera holds a .884 save percentage and 3.01 goals-against average with a 3-5-1 record.
Erik Ersberg, G Friday 11/7, 5:26 PM CT
Erik Ersberg will start Saturday's game against St. Louis, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

Our View: Ersberg has played well this season for the Kings, which has earned him more playing time as of late.
Erik Ersberg, G Thursday 11/6, 9:48 AM CT
Erik Ersberg is slated for his second start of the season between the pipes tonight against the Panthers, according to the LA Times.

Our View: Ersberg holds a strong .927 save percentage and 1.43 goals-against average over three games this season, and is worth fantasy consideration. He will be backed up by Jason LaBarbera.
Jack Johnson, D Wednesday 11/5, 5:49 PM CT
TSN reports that defenseman Jack Johnson said he was five weeks ahead of schedule in his recovery from shoulder surgery. Originally he was not expected back until after the All-Star break, however he expects to start skating in two weeks. He has already begun weight training.

Our View: The 21-year-old had a minus-19 rating in 74 games last season and had a minus-3 rating through two games this season. Although he has a good future ahead of him, it's unlikely he will offer much value to fantasy teams this season.
John Zeiler, RW Monday 11/3, 5:56 PM CT
The AP reports that the Los Angeles Kings activated right wing John Zeiler from the injured reserve on Monday, then loaned the 25-year-old to Manchester of the American Hockey League.

Our View: The former fifth-round pick has played sparingly over the last two seasons with the Kings, collecting a goal and three assists in 59 games.
Oscar Moller, RW Sunday 11/2, 12:34 AM CT
Oscar Moller recorded both of the Kings' goals in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Calgary.

Our View: The 19-year-old forward has scored three goals over his last three games, and is worth a look as a fantasy flier.
Oscar Moller, RW Saturday 11/1, 11:41 AM CT
The Los Angeles Kings will keep 19-year-old Oscar Moller on their NHL roster, according to the L.A. Times. NHL teams have nine games to decide whether to keep a player with juniors eligibility or return him to his team.

Our View: Moller's play through nine games made it clear to team officials that his place was in Los Angeles and not Chilliwack of the Western Hockey League. He has two goals and four points this season and could become a good depth player on fantasy rosters.
Jason LaBarbera, G Saturday 11/1, 11:46 AM CT
Jason LaBarbera has started nine consecutive games, the longest streak by a Kings goaltender since Felix Potvin in 2001-02, according to the L.A. Times.

Our View: It's hard to say why the team has so much confidence in him. He has given up at least three goals in seven of those starts and has a .886 save percentage to go with a 3-4-1 record. He remains a mediocre goaltender at best in fantasy leagues.
