The veteran could end up retiring instead of getting cut. "You want [your career] to end on top of your game," Glavine said. "Sometimes your body tells you it's time to go home. If this is the case, much like John [Smoltz] has said, then who am I to complain? I'm lucky I've gotten to this point in my career without going on the DL. I guess time catches up with you sooner or later."

Yadier Molina was held out of the lineup Saturday due to a regression in his performance on the imPACT concussion screening exam, according to MLB.com. Molina started at DH on Friday and hit a home run, and even though he said he did not feel any different on Saturday than he did on Friday, he was not clear due to the screening results. "He didn't score as well today as he did last night," manager Tony La Russa said. "It could have been the stress of playing. We figured we were best just to give him the whole day off."

"I'm not afraid to have DeWitt hit against left-handers, but his numbers lately against left-handers haven't been as good as the overall number."
