McMurray out at Roush?Tuesday 6/3, 8:28 PM CT
Rumors are circulating that Jamie McMurray will be the odd man out at Roush-Fenway Racing, and could leave as early as 2009.

Our View: By 2010, Roush has to drop to the mandated four teams, but McMurray denies there is any substance to the rumor. Still – one driver is eventually going to have to race somewhere else.
B Labonte to race brotherTuesday 6/3, 7:06 PM CT
Look for Bobby Labonte to have a little added incentive this week as he races his brother Terry. The two Texans will be racing on the same team, so the competition should be high.

Our View: Labonte has come close a couple of times this season, but is still eying his first top-10 of 2008. His last such finish at Pocono Raceway came in August, 2006.
McDowell gets sponsorTuesday 6/3, 3:40 PM CT
Champion Mortgage will be the primary sponsor on the Michael McDowell No. 00 for 10 races this year.

Our View: As the cost of running a team continues to escalate, the price of sponsorship does also. That forces teams to piece together a full season more often than before, but so long as the cash keeps coming, the cars can be competitive.
Eight men in: PoconoTuesday 6/3, 2:03 PM CT
In the event qualification is rained out, the following drivers will make the show: Terry Labonte (in the No. 45), Bill Elliott, Scott Riggs, J.J. Yeley, Dario Franchitti, A.J. Allmendinger, Joe Nemechek and Patrick Carpentier.

Our View: That would leave Jason Leffler, Tony Raines (in the No. 34) and Kenny Wallace (in a second Furniture Row car) on the outside looking in.
Gordon gets 240th top-5Tuesday 6/3, 12:14 PM CT
Jeff Gordon earned his 240th top-five finish last week at Dover, which places him one spot behind Mark Martin on the all-time list.

Our View: Martin is eighth on the all-time top-five list for NASCAR and Gordon is ninth. With a few more solid runs this year, both drivers could catch Buck Baker in seventh with 246.
K Wallace in second Furniture Row carTuesday 6/3, 10:51 AM CT
Kenny Wallace is on the Pocono 500 entry list, driving a second Furniture Car as a teammate to Joe Nemechek.

Our View: Perhaps this is a warm-up for an attempt in the Brickyard 400, but it seems an unlikely place to attempt with the Nationwide race in Nashville. Plenty of drivers will be commuting this weekend, however.
Happy Birthday McMurrayTuesday 6/3, 9:39 AM CT
Jamie McMurray turns 32 on Tuesday, June 3rd.

Our View: Last Sunday, McMurray gave himself a little early birthday present with a 10th at Dover. That was his 66th NASCAR Sprint Cup top-10 in 199 starts.
