N'Wide: Logano notably fast at NashvilleFriday 6/6, 8:22 PM CT
Joey Logano was notably fast in practice for the Federated Auto Parts 300. His top speed of 159.731 mph was good for second on the speed chart.

Our View: Logano has said that anything short of a win this week would be disappointing, but fantasy owners will settle for a solid top-five in light of his affordable salary cap.
N'Wide: Bowyer fastest Claim Jumper at N'villeFriday 6/6, 8:19 PM CT
Clint Bowyer was the fastest of the Claim Jumpers for the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville; his top speed of 159.524 miles per hour was good enough for third overall.

Our View: Bowyer finished second to his teammate Scott Wimmer here in the spring, so he has to be one of the favorites.
N'Wide: Stremme paces Nashville P2Friday 6/6, 8:16 PM CT
David Stremme paced Nashville's Happy Hour for the Federated Auto Parts 300 with a speed of 160.045 miles per hour.

Our View: The Claim Jumpers showed up in time for this session, but only two of them recorded top-10 speeds. This should be a good week for Nationwide Regulars.
N'Wide: Gale wins practice 1Friday 6/6, 6:22 PM CT
Cale Gale posted the fastest single lap in practice for the Federated Auto Parts 300, with a speed of 158.722 miles per hour.

Our View: None of the Claim Jumpers made it to Nashville in time for this practice session, however, so the second session will be much more indicative of who will run fast.
Yeley goes homeFriday 6/6, 4:27 PM CT
J.J. Yeley was the only driver who failed to qualify for the Pocono 500 and will be headed home early. Tony Raines never made an attempt in the No. 34.

Our View: Yeley actually beat five drivers in time trials, but it wasn't the right five.
Kahne wins Pocono poleFriday 6/6, 4:24 PM CT
Kasey Kahne backed up his fast time in Friday's practice with the fastest time in qualification and will lead the field to the green with a speed of 170.219 miles per hour.

Our View: The vast majority of winners at Pocono come from the top 10 and four of the last five races have been won from the front row.
Franchitti feeling fineFriday 6/6, 1:44 PM CT
In the Friday practice session for the Pocono 500, Dario Franchitti reported feeling no pain in his left ankle—despite heavy braking entering turn one for a couple of handfuls of laps.

Our View: This was one of our concerns about the former open wheel rookie and this should be taken as a good sign, but a top-15 finish is still a long ways off on this tricky triangular track.
Raines, Leffler in trouble at PoconoFriday 6/6, 12:56 PM CT
Tony Raines and Jason Leffler are the two "go-or-go-home" drivers in most jeopardy of going home from the Pocono 500.

Our View: Leffler could manage a speed of only 165.93 (33rd on the speed chart) and Raines didn't even get onto the track during the first session.
Kahne leads Friday Pocono practiceFriday 6/6, 12:40 PM CT
Kasey Kahne posted the fastest single lap of Friday's practice for the Pocono 500 with a speed of 169.879 mph.

Our View: This session is typically used to work on qualification trim, and where a driver starts is a good indication of where he will finish. Kahne hopes to rebound from last week's 31st-place finish.
Gilliland slaps Pocono wallFriday 6/6, 12:26 PM CT
David Gilliland made casual contact with the wall on exit of turn three.

Our View: Pocono Raceway has added a patch of asphalt in the second groove of this turn, and it is extremely dirty above that. Look for more cars to get into trouble there as the weekend progresses.
