NEWSBREAKERS NASCAR
N'Wide: Keselowski wins NashvilleSaturday 6/7, 9:23 PM CT
Brad Keselowski used four tires to pass Clint Bowyer and David Reutimann to win the Federated Auto Parts 300.

Our View: There unrestricted, intermediate speedway a reason why this is called the "Opportunity 300."
Hornish into backup carSaturday 6/7, 5:05 PM CT
Sam Hornish spun during Happy Hour and ripped the front splitter off. He also damaged the front end enough that the team will have to roll out a backup car.

Our View: That won't matter much, however, since he only qualified 41st.
N'Wide: Keselowski on outside poleSaturday 6/7, 4:08 PM CT
Brad Keselowski sits on the outside pole for the Federated Auto Parts 300 with a speed of 159.286 mph.

Our View: That places him just to the outside of Joey Logano. Last week at Dover, these two Young Guns finished nose to tail and fantasy owners could be witnessing the birth of a great rivalry.
N'Wide: Logano wins first pole at NashvilleSaturday 6/7, 4:06 PM CT
In only his second career Nationwide starts, Joey Logano won the pole with a speed of 159.944 mph.

Our View: This kid really thinks he can win on Saturday night, and it is hard to doubt him.
Villeneuve rumored to returnSaturday 6/7, 12:40 PM CT
Rumors are circulating once more that Jacques Villeneuve may return to NASCAR. He and Barry Green have teamed up with Normand Legault—promoter of the Canadian Grand Prix—to either start their own team or intensify their sponsor search.

Our View: At the beginning of the season, we were high on Villeneuve's chances for top rookie honors, and we still think he has the skill to succeed. He has to have the money to develop a strong program, however.
Kahne wins Pocono HHSaturday 6/7, 11:33 AM CT
Déjà vu. Carl Edwards posted the fastest lap in both sessions and Kasey Kahne was the quickest in both sessions. His average speed during Happy Hour was 161.642 during 25 laps.

Our View: Kahne should be able to get a jump on Edwards however, since he leads the field to green as the pole sitter. Don't look for a lot of movement among the leaders early on since the marquee drivers starting up front also qualified well.
Edwards fastest in Pocono HHSaturday 6/7, 11:28 AM CT
Carl Edwards posted the fastest lap in Happy Hour at 164.769 mph. He also had the fastest single lap in the morning session.

Our View: Pocono can be a weather sensitive track, so it is encouraging that he was fast in both sessions. However, there was only a 30 minute break between the two, so the track didn't change much.
Kahne wins Pocono Practice 2Saturday 6/7, 9:58 AM CT
Kasey Kahne posted the quickest average speed during Pocono's Saturday morning practice, with a speed of 163.743 mph during nine laps.

Our View: Top speed is important, but it is much more important to go fast during long periods.
Edwards posts fast lap in Pocono P2Saturday 6/7, 9:54 AM CT
Carl Edwards posted the fastest single lap in Saturday morning's session, with a speed of 166.549 mph.

Our View: Edwards qualified sixth for the Pocono 500, so he will be able to use that speed early.
Ky Busch crashes in Pocono practiceSaturday 6/7, 9:50 AM CT
Kyle Busch crashed in the morning practice session after getting loose coming off turn three at the 42 minute mark. He saved his car, but wrecked trying to get onto pit road too quickly.

Our View: Before he even rolled into the garage, he instructed the team to roll out the backup car and he will lose his 10th-place spot on the grid. The accident can be attributed to immaturity, but that all-out attitude is also why he's won so many races this year.
