Mears rumored out of #5Sunday 6/22, 11:01 PM CT
A rumor was reported several times during the Toyota / SaveMart 350k that Casey Mears will not be back in the No. 5 in 2009.

Our View: Could this be a way to make room for Brad Keselowski to ascend to Cup for a Rookie of the Year run? Don't be surprised if that is the next rumor/announcement.
Gilliland gets career best finish Sunday 6/22, 9:55 PM CT
David Gilliland was in contention until the very end and he crossed the finish line second. That was his career-best finish.

Our View: His previous best was a fourth at Talladega SuperSpeedway last April. This was his second career top-five.
Harvick crashes on lap 105Sunday 6/22, 8:49 PM CT
Kevin Harvick drove extremely hard into a turn on lap 105 and crashed two cars ahead of him (plus two cars behind him). That dropped him to 30th in the final rundown and out of the top-12 in points.

Our View: In this week's chat, the question was asked several times why Harvick wasn't more highly rated—and the answer was that he was erratic on the course. That is what we meant.
Ky Busch wins InfineonSunday 6/22, 7:38 PM CT
Kyle Busch started deep in the pack in 30th, benefited from a well-timed pit stop to get to the front and held off the field for a long time to win his first NASCAR Sprint Cup road course race.

Our View: Busch won a Nationwide race at Mexico City this spring, but he was not highly favored for the Toyota / SaveMart 350k. We will have to pay even closer attention to him at Watkins Glen. This easily makes him the most well rounded driver at the moment.
Reutimann, Allmendinger, Waltrip to the backSunday 6/22, 11:36 AM CT
Three drivers will have to go to the back of the pack before the start of the Toyota / SaveMart 350k. David Reutimann is in a backup car, while A.J. Allmendinger and Michael Waltrip had to replace their engines.

Our View: Track position is critical on a road course, and this hurts all of their chances for a quality finish.
