Tony Stewart has the best three-year average finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with a 3.3 during his last three attempts. During those races, he's moved up nearly 20 spots on average after qualifying 22.7.
Our View: Notably, the driver with the second best average finish is Matt Kenseth at 5.7 and he has also qualified badly in the last three years at 23.7. |

As expected, NASCAR has upheld the penalties for Martin Truex Jr. and the No. 1 team. He will lose 150 points and his crew and car chiefs for the next six weeks.
Our View: Kevin Manion will return to the pit box for the final regular season race. If Truex can overcome the penalty, that means he will be at full strength for the Chase for the Sprint Cup. |
