NEWSBREAKERS NASCAR
Allmendinger in, Riggs out of top 35Sunday 8/10, 11:44 PM CT
With his 11th-place run in the Centurion Boats at the Glen, A.J. Allmendinger climbed into the top 35 in owner points. Michigan will be the first race for which this team will not have to worry about qualifying on time.

Our View: Allmendinger jumped up two spots while Scott Riggs dropped two points after finishing 34th at the Glen.
Carpentier top Glen rookieSunday 8/10, 11:31 PM CT
With his 20th-place finish at the Glen, Patrick Carpentier was the Rookie of the Race for his fourth consecutive race.

Our View: Michael McDowell was the top rookie last week at Pocono, but Carpentier did not race so he could concentrate on his efforts in the Montreal Nationwide event.
Ky Busch wins againSunday 8/10, 4:25 PM CT
Kyle Busch's incredible season continues. He drove away from Tony Stewart at the end of the Centurion Boats at the Glen—one of the best road racers of all time—and swept the Cup road courses in 2008.

Our View: Slowly but surely, this kid is winning over the fans and he certainly has won the hearts of fantasy owners.
To the back: Said, RaganSunday 8/10, 9:06 AM CT
Two drivers will have to go to the back of the pack this week: Boris Said for making a driver change in the No. 45 and David Ragan for changing cars.

Our View: Ragan was never a favorite, but Said's odds took a tumble when NASCAR canceled qualification. This car is simply not as strong as his No. 60.
