N'Wide: Edwards win MichiganSaturday 8/16, 4:38 PM CT
Carl Edwards added to the Roush-Fenway Racing mystique at Michigan by winning the Carfax 250 by more than three seconds.

Our View: The race actually ended under caution, but Edwards had a big lead on the final lap. This gives him momentum and confidence entering Sunday's race.
Ky Busch quickest in Michigan HHSaturday 8/16, 1:56 PM CT
Kyle Busch posted the second quickest time in the morning session and jumped to the top of the average speed chart in Happy Hour with a speed of 176.608 mph during 14 laps.

Our View: He didn't spend a lot of time on track, but with the momentum he brings to the track, he is still one of the week's best values.
Edwards posts fast HH lap at MichiganSaturday 8/16, 1:54 PM CT
Carl Edwards posted the fastest single lap of practice in Happy Hour at 182.537 mph.

Our View: His average speed of 175.087 during 36 laps was only 13th, but one suspects he will be just fine during the race.
Grubb to be crew chief?Saturday 8/16, 1:34 PM CT
Darien Grubb has been offered a contract to become the crew chief for Tony Stewart next season, according to ESPN.com. Grubb is currently an engineering manager for Hendrick Motorsports.

Our View: Of course Stewart will be with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2009 so Grubb, who does have limited experience as a crew chief, would have to move along with him.
Bowyer quickest in Sat. a.m. practiceSaturday 8/16, 12:22 PM CT
Clint Bowyer posted the quickest average speed in Saturday morning's practice session for the 3M Performance 400 by Bondo at 178.361 during six laps.

Our View: That was not very many laps, so this time is not as meaningful as Kyle Busch's 178.206 during 18 circuits.
Hamlin fastest in Sat. a.m. practiceSaturday 8/16, 12:21 PM CT
Denny Hamlin posted the fastest single lap in the Saturday morning practice session for the 3M Performance 400 by Bondo at 184.805 mph.

Our View: His average speed of 176.767 during 22 laps, however, was only mid pack so wait until Happy Hour is over before making a decision about starting the No. 11.
N'Wide: Edwards win Michigan poleSaturday 8/16, 11:12 AM CT
Carl Edwards won the pole for the Carfax 250 at Michigan International Speedway with a speed of 186.104 mph.

Our View: Roush rules Michigan and that speed is about 1.5 miles per hour faster than the competition. Edwards is highly favored.
Reutimann to return to MWRSaturday 8/16, 9:41 AM CT
SceneDaily.com is reporting that David Reutimann has had his option picked up and will be racing for Michael Waltrip Racing in 2009.

Our View: Apparently relaxed, Reutimann went out and qualified seventh for the 3M Performance 400 by Bondo, but it's unlikely he will stay in the top 10 for much of the race.
