Gilbert Arenas has told the Washington Post that he's opted out of the final year of his contract with the Wizards. Arenas, who was scheduled to earn $12.8 million next season, is now an unrestricted free agent.
Our View: This was expected. There will surely be plenty of teams interested in Arenas, even though he's coming off an injury-shortened season. |

Shaun Livingston is expected to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, according to the Boston Globe. The Clippers are not expected to make him a qualifying offer.
Our View: The Clippers are expected to select a guard with the seventh pick in the upcoming draft, and holding on to Lvingston is not in their plans. Livingston sustained major damage to his left knee after landing awkwardly following a missed layup against Charlotte in February of 2007, as he tore the ACL, the PCL, and the lateral meniscus. There is also speculation that he may not be able to play at the NBA level again. |
