Oneal to Raptors deal almost doneWednesday 6/25, 6:44 PM CT
Jermaine ONeal will be heading to the Raptors in exchange for T.J. Ford, the Raptors 17th pick and Rasho Nestrovic according to an "unofficial" report in the Toronto Star.

Our View: Neither team has announced the deal yet, but various sources are reporting that the deal is done. There is also the added fact that Ford's compensation package doesn't come off the books until July 1st, so the assumption is that the Raptors will take whomever the Pacers want with the 17th pick, wait a week, and then make the deal official.
Conley to stay with GrizzliesWednesday 6/25, 6:11 PM CT
The Grizzlies would love to move up to get their hands on the pick in the Entry draft, but they are not willing to part with Mike Conley to do so, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Our View: Conley's name has been coming up a lot in trade rumors, but they appear unwilling to move him meaning they will have to do something else if they want to move up from the number five spot.
Robinson to join Knicks summer squadWednesday 6/25, 6:04 PM CT
Nate Robinson is expected to join the Knicks summer league team in Las Vegas next month, according to the New York Post.

Our View: This will be the fourth year in a row that Robinson will be with the team, an unusual move, and in fact he may not actually end up playing in any games, he might just be there to work out with the teams younger players giving the team a chance to gauge him against their youngsters.
Curry to join summer leagueWednesday 6/25, 6:00 PM CT
Eddy Curry, who is coming back from arthroscopic surgery on his knee, will join the Knicks summer league team next month in Las Vegas, according to the New York Post.

Our View: Curry average 13.2 points and 4.7 boards last year though he was limited to just 59 games. Pretty much everything went wrong for the Knicks last year, including Curry's injury, but it's a good sign that the veteran is willing to go to Vegas to work on his game, though it is unclear if he will actually appear in any games.
Nuggets trade first round pickWednesday 6/25, 5:18 PM CT
The Denver Nuggets traded their first round pick in Thursday's 2008 Entry Draft to Charlotte in exchange for a protected first round selection, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View: The Nuggets were forced into this move because of a bulging payroll pushing $90 million which figures to be about $20 million over the luxury tax threshold in 2008.
Iguodala extended qualifying offerWednesday 6/25, 4:28 PM CT
The Sixers extended a qualifying offer to Andre Iguodala on Wednesday, according to TSN. they also extended an offer to guard Louis Williams.

Our View: By doing this, the Sixers will be able to match any contract offer sheet that is presented to Iguodala or Willaims. Andre was the team's top player last year averaging 19.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists, so it's vital the team retains his services.
Kobe to delay surgery on his handWednesday 6/25, 2:35 PM CT
The Orange County Register reports that Kobe Bryant will hold off having surgery on his hand in order to compete in the Olympics this summer.

Our View: Bryant tore a ligament in his hand mid-season and continues to delay a surgery that doctors have deemed necessary. But if you thought he would let down his country, you are out of your mind. This is yet another chapter to add to the lengthy, selfless Kobe Bryant Saga.
Billups out in Detroit?Wednesday 6/25, 2:16 PM CT
Internet rumors persist that the Detroit Pistons may be willing to move veteran point guard Chauncey Billups for draft picks. Several media locations suggest that the team is interested in Baron Davis.

Our View: Supposedly the word in the Bay Area is that Davis does not want to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Warriors, but that he's also not satisfied with extension talks he has had with the team.
Mayo or Beasley; that is the questionWednesday 6/25, 2:13 PM CT
ESPN continues to report that Miami's selection in the upcoming draft Draft may be OJ Mayo rather than Michael Beasley.

Our View: Miami also worked Arizona guard Jerryd Bayless, which suggests the Heat will select Beasley and hope that Bayless is available in the second round.
Hornets trade first-round pick to PortlandWednesday 6/25, 11:24 AM CT
The New Orleans Hornets sent their first round pick, number 27 overall, to the Portland Trail Blazers for cash considerations, according to the Associated Press. The deal gives them additional cash to re-sign free agent, Jannero Pargo

Our View: The Hornets are young enough as it is, and although there will be plenty of talent left at the 27th selection, they would rather invest in keeping their roster intact as it was when they won 56 games last season.
Heat make qualifying offer to WrightWednesday 6/25, 10:58 AM CT
The Heat extended a $2.4 million qualifying offer to Dorell Wright, according to the Miami Sun-Sentinel.

Our View: The small-forward has played four years in the league but is just 22 years old. In 34 starts for the abyssmal Heat last year, he averaged 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds, while shooting 40% from three.
Heat may pursue DiopWednesday 6/25, 10:36 AM CT
According to the Miami Herald, the Heat are expected to pursue DeSagana Diop in free agency.

Our View: The 26 year-old, seven-footer is the best free agent at his position. A number of teams will pursue Diop, likely driving his asking price above what he is worth.
Williams wants to return to MemphisWednesday 6/25, 9:14 AM CT
Jason Williams has told multiple sources in Memphis that he plans to re-join the team this offseason, according to the Memphis Flyer.

Our View: Williams is a free agent, but the point-guard situation in Memphis is already crowded with Mike Conley, Kyle Lowry and Javaris Crittenden in the mix. He would be better off with his original NBA team, the Sacramento Kings. The Kings do not currently have a point guard on their roster.
Marion not being shopped?Wednesday 6/25, 9:05 AM CT
Since Shawn Marion has chose not to opt out of his contract, several trade rumors have swarmed the All-Star forward. The Miami Herald reports that Marion has not been offered for Carlos Boozer, Elton Brand, or Baron Davis as was reported earlier in the week.

Our View: Marion may be on the trading block with Michael Beasley apparently coming to the roster. However, his $17.8 million expiring contract, as well as his production, is valuable to the Heat.
Baron Davis to the Pistons?Wednesday 6/25, 9:00 AM CT
The Contra Costa Times reports that a source with the Detroit Pistons says that the team is eyeing Baron Davis and would be willing to part with Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups in a trade.

Our View: It is reported theat Davis will choose not to opt out of the final year of his contract but was not happy with the extension offered by the Warriors.
