Rose dealing with tendinitisSaturday 7/5, 8:27 PM CT
Derrick Rose is dealing with tedinitis in his right knee after limping noticeably follow the team's Saturday morning practice, according to the Chicago Tribune. "I’ve been coming 90 minutes early every day to get treatment," Rose said. "I’ll be fine."

Our View: The team will probably back off on Rose a bit to allow him time to recover from this irritation, though Rose did participate in the teams Saturday evening practice signaling that the injury is obviously minor.
Bogut sets negotiation deadlineSaturday 7/5, 8:21 PM CT
Andrew Bogut wants a new contract with the Bucks to be worked out prior to the Olympics, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: July 16th is the date that the Australian team will gather to prepare for the Games. If a deal isn't completed by then, Bogut will play out the last year of his contract for $6.3 million and become a restricted free agent at the conclusion of the 2008-09 season.
Beasley returns to practiceSaturday 7/5, 6:59 PM CT
Michael Beasley returned to contact drills with the Heat's summer league team on Saturday for the first time in three days since he suffered a slightly cracked sternum, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Beasley remains listed as day-to-day and his status for the teams first game on Monday is in doubt, but this is still great news as it appears that the injury was indeed minor.
Miles working out with CelticsSaturday 7/5, 4:38 PM CT
Darius Miles may have to sit out the first 10 games of the upcoming season due to a failed drug test, but that doesn't mean he is currently stumpy for a position with a new club, according to the Oregonian. In fact, Miles has recently been working out with the Boston Celtics as he attmempts to return to the court after last seasons knee surgery.

Our View: Miles not only needs to prove he is healthy, he will also have to overcome the drug violation that will carry with it the 10-game suspension, not necessarily a great calling card to entice a new team to taking him on.
Posey receives low offerSaturday 7/5, 12:21 PM CT
The Celtics have made an offer to free agent James Posey, but the deal is unacceptable, according to the Boston Herald. Posey is seeking a four or five-year contract worth around $5.8 million per year.

Our View: If it wasn't about money, we feel like Posey would be keen on sticking with the champs. But the almighty dollar will likely win out and see James change jerseys.
Marbury won't stick in New YorkSaturday 7/5, 11:52 AM CT
The signing of Chris Duhon will allow the Knicks to part ways with Stephon Marbury, according to the New York Times. Sources informed the paper that Marbury's departure is a near certainty. It isn't known if he'll be bought out, traded, or waived.

Our View: If this report proves true, Duhon will see a huge boost in fantasy value. We doubt any team will be willing to trade for Marbury and his monster contract, and it'll be interesting to see where he lands.
Brown could retireSaturday 7/5, 7:58 AM CT
Celtics GM Danny Ainge believes forward P.J. Brown is headed to retirement. "I just don't think he'll play again," Ainge tells the Boston Globe. "That's my gut. He's 39 years old. He's got a nice family and he finished it off in a nice way."

Our View: Brown was basically retired this past season before the Celtics picked him up for the stretch run. He hasn't had any fantasy value for a few campaigns, and we wish him well if he does indeed opt to hang 'em up.
Smith leaves Philly without dealSaturday 7/5, 7:53 AM CT
Forward Josh Smith left Philadelphia without signing an offer sheet, but he felt good about his experience. "[It's] definitely the City of Brotherly Love," Smith informs the Philadelphia Daily News. "I felt welcome as soon as I got here, people stopping me, telling me that they wanted me to really come. I think that it was first class how everything was prepared; it was very organized and I had a good time while I was out here." Smith is a restricted free agent, and the Hawks would have a week to match any offer he signs.

Our View: If Smith were unrestricted, teams would be lining up to court the 22-year-old forward. As it is, the thought seems to be that the Hawks would match whatever another team puts on the able. Only a front-loaded deal could make things complicated for the Atlanta organization.
White inks dealSaturday 7/5, 7:45 AM CT
Forward DJ White signed a multi-year deal with the Sonics on Friday, the Ticker reports. Terms were not disclosed. White, 21, was the 29th overall pick by the Pistons and was dealt to the Sonics for two second-round selections.

Our View: White is part of the franchise's eternal search for bangers in the paint. They hope he can turn out to be Danny Fortson with more offensive skills.
